New Delhi: Dunki released today, December 21, amid much fanfare. The Shah Rukh Khan film, which marks the superstar’s first collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani, hosted its first show in India at 5:55 am at Mumbai’s iconic single screen theatre Gaiety Galaxy and fans ensured it was nothing less than a celebration. In videos shared by Shah Rukh Khan fans online, a massive crowd of people came together to kick off Dunki’s release with dhol-tasha and fireworks. A big cut out of Shah Rukh Khan was also spotted at the venue. 


In the videos shared by fans on twitter, now known as X, fans of SRK were seen dancing together while dhols set the mood. A few fans were seen holding up cutouts of a flight with Dunki written on it. A small stage for fireworks was also arranged. Fans were seen dancing outside the theatre while they waited for the film to premiere. Watch the videos below:


 






 






 






The videos received a happy reaction from SRK. The actor, who appeared to be up for the film’s release, reposted the videos from Gaiety Galaxy and said, “Thank u guys and girls have a good show and hope u all get entertained by #Dunki."  Not only that audiences from NewZealand have also started sharing the reactions and great reviews are pouring where the film released earlier! 


Dunki features an ensemble cast, with colorful characters portrayed by exceptionally talented actors Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, along with Shah Rukh Khan.
