New Delhi: Box office receipts for Dunki dropped on day two, after a lackluster debut on Thursday. The Shah Rukh Khan film made Rs 20.50 crore on Friday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film's total domestic earnings have reached 49.7 crore rupees. The Rajkumar Hirani–helmed picture film received mixed reviews upon its debut. In addition to SRK, 'Dunki' has Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles.

The Shah Rukh Khan film had a respectable opening weekend, but its second-day box office numbers were down somewhat.

According to an initial estimate report on Sacnilk.com, the film has earned Rs 20 crore as its box office performance declined from an opening of Rs 30 crore on the first day.

In comparison to SRK's two most recent movies, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’, the film's opening day receipts in India are much lower. ‘Jawaan’ grossed 75 crore rupees on its first day of release, whereas Pathaan earned 57 crore rupees nett. ‘Dunki’ is SRK’s third release of the year.

‘Dunki’ has generated a total revenue of Rs 49.20 crore so far. Mumbai and Chennai have shown the greatest occupancy rates compared to other cities around India.

The release of Prabhas’ latest film ‘Salaar’ may possibly be responsible for the dramatic decline in Dunki's performance. The Prashanth Neel-directed film earned Rs 95 crore in India, the highest opening of all time.

Dunki has been performing extremely well on international grounds too. A huge range of 40 -50% growth is expected today (Saturday) over Friday owing to strong word of mouth.

'Dunki' is a comedy-drama film that revolves around friendships, borders and love. It explores the concept of 'donkey flight,' an illegal immigration strategy.
