Mumbai: After staying behind bars for 28 days, Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty came out of Mumbai's Byculla Jail on Wednesday (October 7). Earlier in the day, the Bombay High Court granted bail to the actress on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh in drugs-related case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The High Court rejected the bail plea of Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty and drug peddler Abdul Basit Parihar, who were arrested last month under various sections of the NDPS Act.

The Bombay HC directed Rhea to surrender her passport and report to the local police station daily for 10 days. She has been asked not to leave Mumbai without the informing the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The NCB had arrested Rhea, Showik and others in connection with a drugs case related to Sushant's death case. The drugs law enforcement agency arrested her for allegedly procuring and financing drugs for the 'Raabta' actor. Rhea, who was arrested on September 8, spent 28 days in custody.

The police officials made tight security arrangements to ensure no chaos take place after Rhea is released from Byculla Jail.


Several Bollywood celebs including Huma Qureshi, Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha expressed their happiness after the Bombay HC granted her bail.

Huma Qureshi tweeted, "Everyone owes #RheaChakraborty an apology .. And there must be an investigation into people who started these murder conspiracy theories .. Shame on you for destroying a girl and her family’s life for your agendas @Tweet2Rhea."
