New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau detained a Tollywood actress on Saturday (January 2) while conducting a raid at a hotel in Mumbai's Mira Road. The drugs law enforcement agency also caught a peddler, Chand Mohammad, during the raid and seized 400 gm Mephedrine (MD) from him, according to a report in ANI. Drug supplier Saeed is still absconding, NCB sources said.

"Drug peddler Chand Mohammad caught red-handed while drug supplier Saaed is still absconding. 400 gms MD worth Rs 8-10 lakhs seized in last night operations," a report in ANI said.



The NCB has intensified its investigation into the alleged Bollywood drugs case post Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The agency came into action after it received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate about the chats related to drugs usage and consumption.

The NCB has questioned several Bollywood A-listers including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in connection with its probe in the drugs case. Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend were also interrogated by the NCB.

The agency arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty for allegedly procuring and financing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput under various sections of the NDPS Act. The Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea Chakraborty on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. A Mumbai court granted bail to Rhea ’s brother Showik Chakraborty on December 2. The siblings were arrested in a drugs case linked to Sushant's death.

The NCB had also arrested Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa under various sections of the NDPS Act. The agency conducted raid at their residence in Mumbai and recovered 86.5 gm of cannabis. The couple was taken for interrogation where they admitted to taking drugs. They were later released on bail.
