New Delhi: Deepika Padukone will appear before the Narcotics Control Bureau for questioning in connection with the probe into the alleged Bollywood drugs nexus on Saturday (September 26). The ‘Padmaavat’ actress, who was shooting for her upcoming film in Goa, arrived in Mumbai on Thursday (September 24). She was accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh, who reportedly flew to Goa from Bengaluru.

Some reports suggested that Ranveer requested the NCB to allow to him to be present during his wife’s interrogation on September 26. It was said that the ‘Gully Boy’ actor cited Deepika’s anxiety and panic attacks as the reason why he should be allowed to be present during the questioning.

A NCB official on condition of anonymity told IANS that the agency didn’t received any request from Ranveer Singh to join his wife in the probe related to the drugs case.

"We confirm that we have not received any such request from any summoned person. The last email received from the concerned summoned person is only regarding joining the investigation," the official told IANS.

The NCB summoned Deepika Padukone after her WhatsApp chats with manager Karishma Prakash came to the fore during the investigation. In the chats, she allegedly asked for ‘hash’ and ‘maal’ from her manager.

The ‘Chhapaak’ actress was shooting for Shakun Batra’s next when she was summoned. She reportedly consulted her legal team via video conferencing.

Deepika was originally supposed to join the probe on Friday; however, she will now appear before the NCB tomorrow.

The drugs law enforcement agency grilled Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash in connection with the probe in drugs case on Friday. She has been called again tomorrow.

The NCB officials also questioned Rakul Preet Singh and Dharma Productions executive producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad. During the interrogation, Rakul claimed that she has never consumed drugs in her life.
