Dhadak Day 1 box office collection: Janhvi-Ishaan starrer BEATS 'SOTY' & 'Heropanti', Check out the FULL LIST!
Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s much-awaited film ‘Dhadak’, which released on July 20, has packed a solid punch at the box office by earning Rs 8.71 crore on opening day. By minting more that what the prediction was, Shashank Khaitan directorial becomes the highest opener featuring newcomers. The record before this was held by 'Student Of The year' that was helmed by Karan Johar who's also the producer of 'Dhadak'. SOTY launched Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt and it had emerged to be the highest opener starring absolute newcomers, then. The romantic college drama, which became the launching pad of the three actors, had collected Rs 7.48 crore on the first day. Interestingly, both the films have been produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. Here's a look at the other newcomer flicks that Janhvi-Ishaan left behind with their Day 1 collection and it includes even Ranbir Kapoor's 'Saawariya'.

Here’s a look at the opening day performance of films featuring newcomers as leads Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Dhadak’ has beaten the opening day collections of Arjun Kapoor’s ‘Ishaqzaade’ (Rs 4.54 crore) and Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Saawariya’ (Rs 3 crore). Tiger Shroff’s ‘Heropanti’ collected Rs 6.63 crore on the first day while Imraan Khan’s ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa’ minted Rs 3.45 cr on its opening day. Ranveer Singh, who has become one of the most-sought actors in tinsel town, debuted with the film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’.
