Defamation Case: Sherlyn Chopra Accuses Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra Of 'Underworld Threat', Says 'Have Asked Rs 75 Cr For Mental Harassment'

Sherlyn Chopra, while talking to a news agency, opened up the defamation suit, which was served by Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty.

Defamation Case: Sherlyn Chopra Accuses Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra Of 'Underworld Threat'

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra recently filed a Rs 50 crore defamation suit against Sherlyn Chopra, who lodged a police complaint against them. In her complaint, Chopra had alleged that she was a victim of mental harassment and fraud, according to ANI. She has now accused Shetty and Kundra of threatening her.  

The ‘Bigg Boss 3’ contestant, while talking to ANI, revealed that she has sent a reply notice to Shilpa and Raj, asking for Rs 75 crore for mental harassment. She also requested the police to record her statement so that cognizance can be taken of her complaint.  

“Raj Kundra & Shilpa Shetty threatened me with underworld and now sent me defamation notice but I'll not get scared. I request police to record my statement so that cognizance can be taken of my complaint. I've sent reply notice asking for Rs75 cr for mental harassment,” Sherlyn Chopra was quoted as saying by ANI. 

Sherlyn had filed a complaint against Raj Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty on October 14, accusing them of committing fraud against her. While addressing the media, she claimed that Kundra had threatened her several times and hence, she withdrew her earlier case against him, as per a report in ANI. She levelled serious allegations the businessman, who was arrested in connection with production and circulation of obscene films. 

Chopra said that Kundra had sexually assaulted her when he visited her house on March 27, 2019. She added that she had to do a photo-shoot 'under pressure' on March 29, the report in ANI added.

For the uninitiated, A Mumbai court had granted bail to Raj Kundra on a surety of Rs 50,000 in September 2021. He was arrested along with 11 other people for alleged involvement in creation of obscene content.
