On September 26, the Narcotics Control Bureau summoned both Deepika Padukone and her ex-manager, Karishma Prakash after their alleged drug chats from 2017 came to the limelight. While, after her interrogation with the agency, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress resumed her working schedule for her upcoming movie with Shakun Batra, Karishma Prakash was interrogated by the agency again a few days back. Reportedly, during the raid, NCB recovered 1.7 grams of charas and at least 2 bottles of CBD oil from Karishma Prakash’s residence in Versova.
Fearing arrest, Karishma Prakash has filed an anticipatory bail plea in Mumbai Court. NCB told the court that it will take any ‘coercive action’ against Prakash till November 7.
According to a report of ANI, a special court in Mumbai has adjourned the hearing of the anticipatory bail plea of Karishma Prakash to November 10. The special NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) court has also extended the interim relief granted to Prakash and has asked her to cooperate with the investigating agency when called.
Karishma has also resigned from the KWAN management company. The company issued a statement that read, “Karishma Prakash tendered her resignation on 21st of October with immediate effect and it was accepted. She now has nothing to do with KWAN or with any of the artists that the agency represents including Deepika Padukone. The ongoing investigations are on Karishma Prakash as an individual. We would request media houses and reporters to incorporate this fact while reporting on this issue.”
