The 'fake' job cards were used to claim benefits under the MGNREGA scheme. Many of the cards have names of male beneficiaries but pictures of Deepika, Dia and Jacqueline appear on them. RTI activist Sandeep Madahar, who revealed the fraudulent activity, told HT that it was a well-planned scam to siphon public money.
Gaurav Benal, who is the Chief executive officer (CEO), zila panchayat, Khargone, said that he instituted an inquiry after receiving complaints about the use of actresses' pictures on the job cards. He told the daily, "I have instituted an inquiry to see if these cards are real and in what circumstances the photographs were used on the cards. Action will be taken against the guilty if the inquiry committee reports irregularities."
Deepika Padukone's photo was used in one of the job cards with name Monu Shivshankar. Monu said that he didn't go to work and was surprised to see the 'Piku' actress' photo on his job card.

Another report in ZoomTV Entertainment said that beneficiaries who gave their statements have received their wages.
Talking about Deepika Padukone, the 'Padmaavat' actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming film with Shakun Batra in Goa. She recently shot for a light-hearted scene with co-stars Ananaya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
DP will be next seen in Kabir Khan's 83' as Ranveer Singh's on-screen wife. The sports drama co-starring Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani is based on India's Cricket 1983 World Cup Victory.
On the professional front, Jacqueline Fernandez will be next seen in John Abraham starrer 'Attack'. She also has Salman Khan's 'Kick 2' in pipeline.
