To celebrate this milestone Bollywood film, Twitter India has launched a special emoji of a ‘cowbell’ which became a token of the lead pair’s romance in the story. ‘DDLJ’ also kicked off the trend of NRI romances on Bollywood screen.

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have also changed their Twitter names and display pictures reflecting their characters. SRK changed his Twitter name to ‘Raj Malhotra’ and Kajol changed her Twitter name to ‘Simran’.

Cheryl-Ann Couto on behalf of the microblogging site said, “We are excited to celebrate one of the most iconic Indian romances, DDLJ, with the movie's innumerable fans on the service. With the new custom #DDLJ25 emoji, we hope to light up timelines with Tweets about this classic.”

Shah Rukh Khan also revealed that ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ helped him ‘cement his place’ and ‘bought him fame’ in a way the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor never imagined. He told, “As for perception, I always felt that I can play more unconventional roles because of my looks, but 'DDLJ' has believed that and I still struggle to make that one macho unconventional kicka** character which suits me, or so I thought. But its been a struggle to not be considered romantic and sweet for the last 25 years - a struggle, I guess, I am happy to lose.”

Karan Johar, who was on his training ground during the shooting of the film, took to his social media and shared some throwback memories back from the sets. While sharing the pictures, he wrote, “DDLJ is so so special to me and will always be....it was my training ground ....I have indelible memories of our times on set....the film has achieved the status of being a legendary love story and I am so proud that I was a tiny part of this beautiful film! Thank you Adi for all my learning’s and all the memories ...#DDLJ25 @yrf”
