New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc in the entire world. The number of positive COVID-19 cases in India has jumped to over 1900. While people are practicing social distancing, the number of positive cases has increased alarmingly in the past few days. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to announce that he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Varma said that his doctor told him that he was infected with the deadly virus. He tweeted, “My doctor just told me that I tested positive with Corona.”

Fans flooded his post with their messages and asked him about his health after his tweet went viral.



Ram Gopal Varma posted another tweet, which read, “Sorry to disappoint, but now he tells me it’s a April Fool joke Flushed face it’s his fault and not mine.” The 'Satya' director clarified that he was joking and it was an April Fool's Day prank.

The 'Bhoot' director issued an apology and said that he was only trying to find something to laugh about in the current situation. He further tweeted, “Anyway I am just trying to make light of a grim situation but the joke is on me and if I dint offend anyone I sincerely apologise to them.”
