New Delhi: The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected all the countries of the world including India. PM Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown to combat the further spread of COVID-19. He created Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES) on March 28 and urged the citizens to contribute and support the cause.

Several Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan and Vicky Kaushal have contributed their bit.

Madhuri Dixit and her husband Sriram Madhav Nene have also pledged to donate to the government’s relief fund. The ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl took to social media to announce that they will donate to the PM-CARES Fund and Maharashtra’s CM Relief Fund to combat COVID-19 outbreak.

"All of us should join hands to win this war for humanity. Doing our bit by donating to the PM CARES Fund & CM's Relief Fund. Let's come out of this stronger. Love Madhuri & Ram,” the post read.

Although, the 'Devdas' actress didn't reveal the amount of donation, she asked the people to join hands for humanity.



Meanwhile, the number of positive Coronavirus cases in India has jumped to over 1900. While 155 people have recovered, the deadly virus has claimed 38 lives in the country.
