New Delhi: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone joined WHO’s #SafeHands Challenge to promote the importance of washing hands amid the Coronavirus scare. The ‘Padmaavat’ actress shared a video on Twitter in which she can be seen washing her hands thoroughly with soap. DP sported a mask on her face and demonstrated an effective way of washing the hands, as said by WHO. The song 'Three Little Birds' played in the background while she took the challenge.


Deepika further nominated Tennis player Roger Federer, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli for the challenge.

World Health Organisation (WHO), which declared Coronavirus outbreak a pandemic, started the #SafeHands Challenge. The official Twitter of WHO had tweeted, “There are simple things we each must do to protect ourselves from #COVID19, including ???? washing with ???? & ???? or alcohol-based rub. WHO is launching the #SafeHands Challenge to promote the power of clean ???? to fight #coronavirus. Join the challenge & share your ???? washing video!”



In India, the number of positive cases has increased to 137 while three people have lost their lives due to Coronavirus.

Talking about, Deepika Padukone, the actress will be next seen in Kabir Khan’s ‘83’. The film starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev is based on India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup victory.
