Coronavirus: Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan & Other B’wood Celebs Donate To Fight Against COVID-19

PM Narendra Modi imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Coronavirus. He also announced the creation of the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to fight against the deadly virus. Several Bollywood stars including Anushka Sharma, Kartik Aaryan and Rajkummar Rao have come forward to donate for the cause of combating COVID-19.

PM Narendra Modi imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Coronavirus. He also announced the creation of the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to fight against the deadly virus. Several Bollywood stars including Anushka Sharma, Kartik Aaryan and Rajkummar Rao have come forward to donate for the cause of combating COVID-19.

Katrina Kaif became the latest Bollywood star to donate t the government relief fund. Making an announcement on Instagram, she wrote, “I pledge to donate to the PM CARES fund and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund Maharashtra. Shilpa Shetty, who recently welcomed her daughter Samisha through surrogacy, has pledged to donate Rs 21 lakh to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's PM-CARES Fund. "For humanity, our country, & fellow citizens that need us; now is the time, let’s do our bit. @TheRajKundra & I pledge 21 lacs to @narendramodi ji‘s PM-CARES Fund. Veteran actor Nana Patekar donated Rs 50 lakh on behalf of his NGO Naam Foundation to the relief fund. “On behalf of @NaamFoundation we are contributing Rs. 50 lakhs towards hon' @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji's initiative PM-CARES as a support in India's fight against #COVID19,” the ‘Krantiveer’ actor tweeted. Rajkummar Rao donated to PM's Relief Fund and CM's Relief Fund to support the battle against COVID-19. Sharing the same on Twitter, the ‘Stree’ actor wrote, "It's time to stand together & to help our administration in this fight against Coronavirus. Kartik Aaryan, last seen in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ opposite Sara Ali Khan, also donated Rs 1 crore to the government relief fund. "It is the absolute need of the hour to rise together as a nation. Whatever I am, whatever money I’ve earned, is only because of the people of India; and for us I am contributing Rs. 1 crore to the PM-CARES Fund. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have pledged their support to the PM Cares Fund and Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Maharashtra) to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The power couple took to Twitter and Instagram to make the announcement. “Virat and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Maharashtra).
