New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui', which released on Friday (December 10), has started on a positive note at the box office. The romantic drama has managed to receive rave reviews from the critics and audience. The progressive concept driven film has performed well despite the prevailing COVID-19 norms of fifty percent occupancy in several regions.
Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office collection of ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ on Twitter. He informed the fans that the film collected Rs 3.75 on its opening day. Adarsh revealed that the movie performed better in Delhi-NCR and Chandigarh on Friday. He added that other metro cities registered low footfalls.
"#ChandigarhKareAashiqui - targeted at metro multiplexes - records better numbers in #Delhi, #NCR, #Chandigarh on Day 1… Other metros ordinary/low… Mass circuits dull… Should catch speed at remaining metros for healthy opening weekend total… Fri ₹ 3.75 cr. #India biz," Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The positive mouth-of-the-word publicity is expected to boost the collection of 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui'. It remains to be seen how will much the film will earn during its first weekend.
The film focused on the story of Manu, a body builder from Chandigarh, who falls in love with Maanvi. There's a big twist in their romantic tale. Things go smoothly until Manu ends up knowing the truth about Maanvi. His ladylove is a transgender woman. Abhishek Kapoor, who has directed 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui', has been appreciated for thinking out of the box.

The cast and crew commenced wrapped up the final schedule in December 2020. The film also starred Yograj Singh, Abhishek Bajaj, Kanwaljit Singh and Aanjjan Srivastav in key roles.
