New Delhi: After the success of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Brahmastra' fans have been eagerly waiting for 'Brahmastra: Part 2-Dev'. Though Ayan Mukerji may have taken nearly 10 years to finish 'Brahmastra: Part One', fans are eagerly waiting for him to finish the sequel, reportedly, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead. Hrithik Roshan is also reportedly part of the project though no official confirmation has come in.

'Brahmastra' was an ensemble starrer featuring the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy among others. The fantasy film was deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and takes a lot of inspiration from Hollywood action films and Indian comics and myths.

In an interview with News18.com, Ayan spoke about his upcoming film 'Brahmastra 2' and said that it will take a 'couple of years' adding jokingly, "that’s one hundred percent better than ten years. If we take another ten years, nobody will come to watch Brahmastra 2."

This is not the first time Ayan has spoken about the release of 'Brahmastra 2' and its release. Earlier, he said in an interview with indianexpress.com that the film would be released by 2025. "It is a tough timeline for us considering how much time part one took. But now we have also learnt how to make these kinds of films."

Now, with the framework set and the technology in place, 'Brahmastra 2' should begin production soon. Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates about the film.

Recently, Ranbir had won a Best Actor award trophy for his role in the film. During the acceptance speech, he did point out that he had not done some 'great acting' in the film, and he thought he did not deserve the award.

Ayan Mukerji has also on numerous occasions spoken about 'Brahmastra' being an entertainer more than an award-winning kind of film.
