Assam CM Tweets About SRK Calling Him At 2 AM, Sparks Fresh Meme Fest Over His 'Who Is SRK?' Remark

On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted about having a conversation with SRK at 2am regarding an 'incident' that took place in Guwahati during screening of his film 'Pathaan'.

New Delhi: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all geared up for the release of his upcoming film 'Pathaan'. Fans across the country are equally excited to watch King Khan back on silver screen, slaying with his power-packed performance in the high octane action thriller. Several of them have booked the entire auditorium in advance to enjoy the first day first show of the film.

On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted about having a conversation with SRK at 2am regarding an 'incident' that took place in Guwahati during screening of his film 'Pathaan'.

In his tweet, the Assam CM wrote, "Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during screening of his film. I assured him that it’s duty of state govt to maintain law & order. We’ll enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents."

However, the Assam CM sparked a fresh meme fest with his latest tweet about having a conversation with Shah Rukh Khan at 2 in the morning. The reason being the Assam Minister asking "Who is SRK?" when asked about the controversy around 'Pathaan', during a press meet, a day before.

Several twitter users rushed to the comments section trolling the CM for the same with comments like, "Kal to aap kah rahe the kaun Shah Rukh Khan" and "Who is Shahrukh Khan CM Sir", among others.

Actor and critic Kamal Rashid Khan, known for his sarcastic comments, wrote, "But sir yesterday you said that you don’t know who is #SRK? Means you were also looking for attention only."

One twitter user wrote, "अरे बड़ी जल्दी पहचान गये और इतना कि ट्वीट भी करना पड़ गया"

Another user commented, "कल तो आप बोल रहे थे कौन शाहरुख खान आज इतना सब करने के लिए तैयार हो गए आप"

Several other users went ahead with the comments, "हिमंत बिस्वा कल तुम कह रहे थे कौन शाहरुख खान आज वही "श्री शाहरुख खान" हो गए ? एक फोन में ही पलट गए रे माफिवीर के चेले।", to "Did he introduce you first as you didn’t know him till yesterday."

Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan' releases in theatres on January 25. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Directed by Sidharth Anand, 'Pathaan' is produced under the banner of Yash Raj films.
