New Delhi: ‘Jallikattu’ has bagged the 93rd Oscars nomination from India in a race of 27 films which includes ‘Shakuntala Devi’, ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, ‘Shikara’, ‘Chhappak’, ‘Bhonsle’, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, ‘Serious Men’, ‘Bulbul’, ‘The Sky Is Pink’ and others. Two Marathi films were also in contention: ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Disciple’.
Malayalam Film ‘Jallikattu’ Bags Nomination For The 93rd Oscars Awards In A Race Of 27 Indian Films
‘Jallikattu’ is a 2019 Malayalam film based on the short story ‘Maoist’ by S. Hareesh. This action-drama stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran in prominent roles and has been directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
