New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is expected to return to the franchise in the upcoming Bollywood comedy 'Welcome 3'. Arshad Warsi, who is known for his comedic roles, has stated that the sequel will be made and that he would be joining the cast of the movie series.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actor said, “The scale of Welcome 3: the cost, the climax, is unreal. It is an insanely larger than life theatrical film which I will be a part of. It has me, Akshay Kumar, Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), Paresh Rawal and lots of other people.”

Warsi, who garnered praise for his role in the web series 'Asur, revealed why he was not seen on the big screen much in recent years. "To do a small bit in these big films, I don’t fancy that. For me, job satisfaction is most important. These are films which will pay me tonnes of money. The ones I have got offered, I didn’t fancy very much. The one I am doing is Welcome 3,” Arshad said.

'Welcome', which was released in 2007 and starred Akshay, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, and Katrina Kaif, was one of the funniest films of the year. Anil, Nana, and Paresh reprised their roles in 'Welcome Back', which premiered in 2015 and also starred Shruti Haasan, John Abraham, Shiney Ahuja, and Naseeruddin Shah.

In the same interview, Arshad Warsi gives details about the third installment of the 'Jolly LLB' franchise. He stated that the film starring him and Akshay will officially start filming in January.

'Asur 2', a popular series that is now streaming on JioCinema, featured Arshad Warsi in the lead role. Barun Sobti, Amey Wagh, and Riddhi Dohra, who had already played their parts in season 1, returned for the second season of the show.
