New Delhi: The COVID-19 pandemic not only affected people’s health, but also their financial status. Several people lost their jobs during this pandemic. Soon after the nationwide lockdown was implemented due to the outbreak of this virus, many businesses suffered loss which in turn, affected the employment of several people. The Entertainment industry also suffered loss as shooting came to a halt during the nationwide lockdown.


Bollywood cameraperson Suchismita Routray also lost her job during this pandemic. The 22-year-old cameraperson had to return to her hometown Cuttack. According to a report of India Today, Suchismita is now forced to sell momos at her hometown in Odisha where she earns Rs 300- Rs 400 per day for her survival.

Suchismita Routray told revealed while speaking to India Today, “I had lots of projects in hand to work with, even I was about to start a project in Mumbai before the pandemic broke out. Later, the situation deteriorated during the pandemic. Following the outbreak, as I was unable to find any new assignment, I had to return to my native place in February.”


Routray further added that Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan funded the entire crew to return to their respective hometowns. “I didn’t have the money to return home. Thankfully Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan funded our entire crew to return to their respective hometowns”, she told while speaking to the leading news portal.


Suchismita Routray has worked in some big banner films including 'Kalank', 'Chehre', 'Brahmastra' and others. 


Meanwhile, other than Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, many other Bollywood celebrities including Sonu Sood, Hrithik Roshan and others have lent out their helping hand to the people in need during the nationwide lockdown.
