New Delhi: Jee Le Zaraa starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif was announced way back in 2021, and since then, speculation has surrounded Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated directorial project. Rumours have circulated about the film being shelved due to Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif allegedly exiting the project. However, in a recent interview with News 18, Alia Bhatt addressed the delays and confirmed that the intention to make the film remains ‘very strong.’

Alia Bhatt shares update on Jee Le Zaraa

On being asked about Jee Le Zaraa in the interview, Alia Bhatt said, "I think the intention to make that film is from everybody's perspective… very, very strong. So just the nature of the subject and we are talking about collaboration earlier when I was talking about Ed… here is a really strong team of collaborators coming together. So the intention is make it happen."

She further continued, "Sometime there is a time and place for everything and you just have to wait for the right time to come together. But I think the intention in everybody's hearts is to make sure that this film hits the big screen, some day or the other.”

About Jee Le Zaraa

The buddy road movie, set to mark Farhan’s directorial comeback after over a decade, was announced on the 20th anniversary of his 2001 directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai. Farhan also announced Don 3 as his next project last year, featuring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in lead roles.

In August of last year, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar denied rumours that Jee Le Zaraa was shelved, explaining that they are simply waiting to coordinate the actors' schedules.

Despite this, it appears the film will take some more time before production begins.

Alia Bhatt's work front

Alia Bhatt is currently committed to Jigra, Love and War, and an action franchise with Yash Raj Films. Priyanka Chopra has the release of Heads of State and is filming The Bluff. Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif has not yet announced her next project.
