In 2021, Farhan Akhtar made headlines with the announcement of 'Jee Le Zaraa', a highly anticipated film set to star Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. Initially slated to begin production last year, the project was delayed as Akhtar focused on other ventures, including 'Don 3'.

However, recent reports indicate that Akhtar and his production company, Excel Entertainment, are exploring the possibility of reviving the film. Amid these developments, Alia Bhatt, currently promoting her film 'Jigra' with Vasan Bala, provided an important update on 'Jee Le Zaraa'.

Alia Bhatt shares update on Jee Le Zara

During a promotional interview with The Lallantop, alongside director Vasan Bala and actor Vedang Raina, Bhatt was asked about her upcoming projects, including 'Jee Le Zaraa. Addressing the film's current status, she explained, "There is no schedule right now, no shoot date. But it will definitely happen. It's a film that everyone involved—actors, producers, directors—wants to make."

Bhatt attributed the delay to scheduling conflicts among the cast and crew. Despite this, she reassured fans that the film is still in the works, stating, "I think if it's on everyone's mind and intent, the film will get made."

Earlier this year, Pinkvilla reported that while 'Jee Le Zaraa' had been put on hold before reaching pre-production, the script was still being fine-tuned. A source close to the production confirmed that the delay was due to scheduling issues, not because the project was shelved.

"The film was delayed due to date issues but wasn’t called off. It’s a passion project for everyone involved, from the producers to the writers and director. The script is ready, and the team is looking to revive it," the source shared.

About Alia, Priyanka and Katrina starrer Jee Le Zaraa

'Jee Le Zaraa' is an important project for Excel Entertainment, as it aims to complete a trilogy of friendship-focused films following the successes of Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Reports suggest that Farhan Akhtar recently met with Priyanka Chopra during a visit to India to discuss reviving the film, and he remains in contact with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt to align their schedules.

Though there have been rumors that Chopra and Kaif might no longer be involved, Bhatt's comments suggest that all parties are still committed to making Jee Le Zaraa a reality.
