‘Please Mere Pet Pe Laat Mat Maro’: Here's Why Akshay Kumar Apologised To Wife Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna, who is known for her wits, joked that she wouldn't cast Akshay Kumar in her next production. Check out their fun-filled banter!

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who won several hearts with his performance in ‘PadMan’, lauded the team of the film for pushing the envelope on a ‘taboo’ subject on Twitter. On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020, the ‘Rustom’ actor shared a heartfelt post and hoped that his critically acclaimed movie managed to create awareness and break the taboos surrounding menstruation.

‘PadMan’ was based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who created low-cost sanitary napkin machine for the women in rural Tamil Nadu.

“It’s been 2 years to #PadMan and I’m glad we managed to push the envelope a little on this taboo subject. This #MenstrualHygieneDay, I hope we move a step closer towards ending period poverty and breaking taboos surrounding menstruation. @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte,” Akshay wrote on the micro-blogging site.

The ‘Housefull 4’ actor tagged the lead actresses Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor but forgot to mention his wife Twinkle Khanna, who was the producer of the film. Our very own ‘Mrs Funny Bones’ was apparently not so pleased with Khiladi Kumar. The 'Mela' actress, known for being witty, joked that the ‘Good Newzz’ star won’t feature in her next production.

She tweeted, “Err.... You are definitely not part of my next production!"

Akshay was quick enough to respond to Twinkle and accepted his mistake. He wrote, “Please mere pet pe laat mat maro. Missed tagging the team. Apologies to my producer, @mrsfunnybones, director #RBalki and the man without whom Padman wouldn’t be made @murugaofficial.”

The ‘Kesari’ actor also mentioned ‘PadMan’ director R Balki and A Muruganantham in his tweet. You can’t miss the couple’s cute banter on Twitter.

Akshay has come forward to provide sanitary napkins to the female daily wagers, who have been impacted due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in 'Sooryavanshi'. The film co-starring Katrina Kaif was slated to hit the silver screens in March 2020, However, the makers had to postpone the release date due to COVID-19 crisis.
