Akshay Kumar Breaks Silence On Bollywood's Drugs Controversy & Issues Post Sushant's Demise; Karan Johar REACTS!

Akshay Kumar addressed the controversies surrounding Bollywood in his video and also acknowledged the problems of drugs in the Hindi film industry.

New Delhi: Bollywood has found itself embroiled in several controversies since the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. The untimely death of Sushant has triggered debates on several topics including nepotism, favouritism and insider vs outsider in tinsel town. The Hindi film industry recently came under the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau which is investigating the drugs angle in the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s death case. Akshay Kumar, who returned to Mumbai after wrapping up the shooting of ‘BellBottom’, addressed the controversies surrounding Bollywood. Khiladi Kumar shared a video on social media in which he acknowledged the use of drugs and narcotics in the industry. The 'Rustom' actor said that blaming every person related with Hindi cinema is not justified. He added that usage of drugs is a legal issue and the concerned authorities will take right step in the matter. "With a heavy heart, I am talking to everyone. We are not only an industry; we have spread our Indian cultures and values through films to the rest of the world. After the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput, several issues have come to the fore. They have pained us as well. The issues have forced us to self-introspect.” he said. "I also know that people from the film industry will co-operate with the agencies doing the probe. I request everyone not to blame the entire industry because of few people. Judging everyone from the same lens is not right" the 'PadMan' star added. Akshay also spoke about the power of media and said that if the journalists don't raise their voices, many people won't get justice. He requested the media fraternity to cover news with sensitivity. "One negative news can ruin the hard work and reputation of a person," he added. Check out the video!

The NCB,which has intensified its probe into the alleged Bollywood drugs nexus, quizzed four leading actresses- Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet last week. The four actresses have denied consuming any narcotics substance during the NCB interrogation. Talking about Akshay Kumar, the 'Good Newwz' actor will be next seen in 'Laxmmi Bomb'. The comedy horror drama will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar on November 9. The flick co-starring Kiara Advani was originally slated to hit the silver screens on Eid 2020.
