New Delhi: ‘Adipurush’, Om Raut's long-awaited legendary epic film, debuted in cinemas on June 16. The film starred Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. The movie made Rs 65 crore on its second day of release in India across all languages, as reported by business tracker Sacnilk. The Telugu version of the film starring Prabhas witnessed a huge drop in box office receipts on the second day of its release. On the other side, the Hindi version is doing quite well even now.

When looking at total global box office receipts, Adipurush's first-day earnings place it in the fourth spot. ‘RRR’ brought in Rs 222 crores, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ made Rs 214 crores, and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ made Rs 164.5 crores, making them the top three highest-grossing films of all time.

‘Adipurush’ had the biggest pan-Indian opening of 2023 on day 1, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’. The movie maintained its financial success, despite the negative reviews. Trade expert Ramesh Bala tweeted that Adipurush's worldwide gross hit Rs 200 crore within its first two days.

‘Adipurush’ will become the fourth film of Prabhas to gross over Rs 100 crores in Hindi by the end of the weekend, joining Baahubali, Baahubali 2, and Saaho in that exclusive club.

The much-anticipated movie got mixed reviews when it came out. Netizens have talked about the film's dialogue and said they were disappointed by how cringe-worthy it was.

ABP Live review of the film reads as, "The movie has been a mishmash of terrible acting and unbearable dialogue from the moment it began. Nothing changed at the end of the story. With animated characters by their sides who possess superpowers akin to those of Marvel and DC protagonists, Raghav and Raavan engage in combat."
