The announcement of the 70th National Film Awards on August 16 brought significant attention to the films that won top awards. A few popular films last year took home the prestigious honour, while some underrated movies came to the spotlight. Anand Ekarshi's Malayalam film 'Aattam', which won three major categories at the 70th National Film Awards—Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing—has garnered considerable interest. 


The protagonist of the narrative is Zarin Shihab's character Anjali, a theatre artist who chooses to reveal a long-kept secret. Anjali charges a famous celebrity who has joined their group with sexual harassment. Her life takes a turn for the worst when she finds shocking facts about her coworkers, after she initially receives from her team. A stellar cast including Vinay Forrt as Vinay and Kalabhavan Shajohn as Hari, are featured in the movie.


Inspired by Reginald Rose's courtroom drama ‘Twelve Angry Men’, the movie released in theatres on January 5, 2024. The film 'Aattam' is currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
