New Delhi: While reacting to an old video of Sting watching Jose Feliciano "murder" his tune, AR Rahman stated he had gone through something of the sort. Jose Monserrate, a guitarist and singer who was born in Puerto Rico, serenaded Sting with a rendition of 'Every Breath You Take' in the old clip.

The video was first posted along with the tweet, "Sting watching his song getting murdered live on stage." While attending the Polar Music Prize in 2017, singer-songwriter Sting can be seen in the video watching Jose Feliciano. Sting tries his best to be nice in the old video that is currently trending on Twitter despite being unaware that the camera is on him. However, there are brief moments when his face shows signs of annoyance.

On Wednesday, AR Rahman took to Twitter to post the video, and tweeted, "I’ve been there (heart eye emoji)."

Some people on Twitter questioned who singer-musician AR Rahman was pointing to in response to his tweet about the video.

The popular song 'Masakali' from the film 'Delhi 6'—originally written by AR Rahman, performed by Mohit Chauhan, and with lyrics by Prasoon Joshi—was remixed and made into 'Masakali 2.0'.

The composer had expressed his disappointment with the T-Series music video starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria on social media in 2020. AR Rahman posted his original song on Twitter with the following note, "No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew. Lots of love and prayers, AR Rahman.”

Along with the cast and director of the movie, Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman has been promoting 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'.
