Alia Bhatt Gives 'Happy, Grateful & Virtual Wala Love' To Varun Dhawan & Sidharth Malhotra As 'SOTY' Completes 9 Years Of Release

9 years of 'Student Of The Year': Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan shared posts as their debut film turned nine on October 19, 2021.

Mumbai: Karan Johar’s ‘Student of The Year’, which marked the Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, completed nine successful years of release on Tuesday (October 19). The coming-of age romantic comedy drama had a received a good response from the audience upon its release at the box office. Alia, Varun and Sidharth, who played the main leads in ‘SOTY’, have established themselves as bankable stars in the last nine years. 

How Alia Bhatt Celebrated 9 Years Of ‘Student Of The Year’? 

The ‘Kalank’ actress, who is currently busy shooting for Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani’, shared a post on social media to inform her fans that she connected with her co-stars Varun and Sidharth to mark nine years of their film’s release.  

"There’s something about today.. something really special. 9 years later we managed to connect and give each other some happy grateful virtual wala love," Alia wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo with Karan Johar. Bhatt and Johar called Varun and Sidharth and reminisced their memories on the sets of 'SOTY'.

You can't help but notice the reference of 'Disco Song' and 'Ishq Wala Love' in Alia's post.

Varun Dhawan Shares Throwback PICS From 'SOTY'

The 'October' star posted throwback snaps from his debut film along with the caption, "It's been 9 years." Varun trended on Twitter as he completed nine years in the Hindi film industry. The official Instagram handle of Dharma Movies dropped a comment that read, "And everyone is still swooning over 'dha-wan' and only."

Karan Johar had launched Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in 'Student Of The Year 2', which released in 2019. The film co-starring Tiger Shroff and Aditya Seal received mixed reviews from the critics.

Alia Bhatt's Upcoming Films

On the professional front, the 'Gully Boy' star has several exciting projects in her kitty including 'Brahmastra', 'RRR', 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', 'Darlings', to name a few. She is working with Ranveer Singh once again in KJo's 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani'. The movie will also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.
