New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who will be seen playing the role of former Indian Cricket team captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's '83', took to social media to wish the latter on his 62nd birthday. The 'Gully Boy' star penned a heartfelt post for the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning captain and shared an inspiring video on his official Twitter handle.

Ranveer Singh's Birthday Post For Kapil Dev


The 'Padmaavat' star posted a clip wherein Kapil Dev shared important advice for everyone. In the backdrop, we spotted Ranveer and other '83' actors training for their roles with the former cricketer. The highlight of the video was Ranveer's batting skills. The video snippet ended with the message, "Coming soon the story of Kapil's Devils."

When Will '83' Release?


'83' was originally slated to hit the silver screens on April 10, 2020; however, the makers decided to postpone the film due to the COVID-19 crisis. The makers of the much-awaited film are yet to reveal the new release date of '83'. Speculations are rife that the film will now release in the first quarter of 2021. The producers are yet to confirm the development.

Cast Of '83'

Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the role of Ranveer Singh's on-screen wife in 83'. The real life couple has worked in films like 'Ramleela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat'. DP is one of the co-producers of the highly anticipated flick.

'83' also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani in key roles. The sports drama is based on India's 1983 Cricket World Cup victory.
