New Delhi: The trailer for Sakshi Tanwar's dark Netflix series Mai, which premiered today (March 24), has already gone viral, and fans are going crazy over it. Throughout the series, Sakshi Tanwar portrays a mother determined to track out her daughter's murderer and bring her to justice, despite the fact that law enforcement has failed to assist her.

Towards the beginning of the trailer, Sakshi sees her daughter being run over and killed by a vehicle. Although the plot seems to be straightforward, it soon becomes apparent that Sakshi's daughter's death may be more difficult than a hit-and-run accident at first glance.

Her search for answers leads her into conflict with organised crime, where she takes up positions as a nurse and bashes a few heads with fire extinguishers along the way. She is becoming more convinced that her daughter was killed in cold blood in order to keep a secret that many others wish to keep hidden.

With shades of the Sridevi-starrer MOM, Mai takes aim at the whole system, including law enforcement and civil society. Sakshi Tanwar appears to have done an excellent job portraying the obstinate mother who will stop at nothing to bring justice. In this 2-minute clip, she makes a strong and lasting impression.

Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma's production company, 'Clean Slate Filmz,' is behind the picture, which is directed by Atul Mongia and Anshai Lal.

In addition to Sakshi Tanwar, the film also features Raima Sen, Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, and Prashant Narayanan. On April 15, Netflix will premiere the movie.
