Mumbai: Well-known actor and director of the film industry Mahesh Manjrekar, a well-known director and actor of Hindi and Marathi films, was recently admitted to South Mumbai's H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. After being diagnosed with urinary bladder cancer, he underwent surgery and now, Mahesh Manjrekar has returned home.


A close source told ABP News that Mahesh Manjrekar was suffering from urinary bladder cancer for the last few months and during his treatment, the doctors advised him for the surgery. After the surgery took place, Mahesh Manjrekar remained hospitalized for a few days. He got discharged from the hospital 10 days ago and is currently resting at home.

When contacted, Mahesh Manjrekar told ABP News, “I am feeling much better than before. I will be fit in a few weeks. Right now, I don’t want to talk more about my illness.”


Apart from acting in many Hindi films like 'Kaante', 'Dabangg', 'Musafir', '10 Kahaniyan', 'Zinda', ‘Wanted, 'Slumdog Millionaire', Sanjay Dutt starrer 'Vaastav', Mahesh Manjrekar has also directed the film 'Astitva' starring Tabu. Apart from acting in many popular Marathi films, he has also directed Marathi films.


Mahesh Manjrekar has also acted in many Tamil and Telugu films. He also participated in the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' as a contestant in the year 2006. Mahesh Manjrekar has also hosted the Marathi 'Bigg Boss'.
