Popular actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar was diagnosed with urinary bladder cancer a few days back and he underwent a surgery for the same recently. According to a report in Etimes, the surgery took place ten days back and Manjrekar was operated at Mumbai's H N Reliance Foundation Hospital at Charni Road. ETimes further reported that 63-year-old Manjrekar is now back home and feeling fit and fine. The operation in question went off very smoothly and he is now on a road to recovery.



On a related note, Manjrekar, recently celebrated his birthday at home which was attended by Salman Khan. Popular Indian Idol 12 contestants Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, Shanmukhapriya, Ashish Kulkarni and Nachiket Lele had  also attended his birthday bash. Several pictures from his birthday bash went viral on social media.


On the work front, Mahesh Manjrekar is set to direct the Hindi remake of the popular Marathi film, ‘Mulshi Pattern’. The Hindi remake, titled ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ will star Salman Khan and his brother-in-law, actor Aayush Sharma in lead roles.



The versatile actor Mahesh Manjrekar who debuted in movies with Jeeva Sakha (Marathi) in 1992 is known for his roles in movies like Wanted, Zinda, Run, OMG: Oh My God!, Ready and many others.


As a director he has helmed films like Vaastav, Kurukshetra, Viruddh… Family Comes First among others. Interestingly, Mahesh is also a good dancer and he was declared as the 2nd Runner-Up in 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' in 2006. 


He also hosted the first season of Bigg Boss Marathi in 2018.
