New Delhi: Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu on Thursday posted a heartfelt tribute to his late father Krishna on Instagram. Telugu superstar Krishna passed away on November 15 following a cardiac arrest at the age of 79.

Posting a throwback picture of his father, Mahesh Babu wrote: "Your life was celebrated...Your passing is being celebrated even more... Such is your greatness. You lived your life fearlessly... daring and dashing was your nature. My inspiration... My courage... and all that I looked up to and all that really mattered are gone just like that. But strangely, I feel this strength in me which I never really felt before... Now I'm fearless... Your light will shine in me forever... I will carry your legacy forward... I will make you even more proud... Love you Nanna.. My Superstar."

Earlier Mahesh Babu’s Sitara had also posted a tribute to her grandfather. In her post, Sitara shared a picture with her grandfather and wrote, "Weekday lunch will never be the same again..... You taught me so many valuable things... always made me smile. Now all that's left is my memory of you. You're my hero... I hope I can make you proud someday. I'll miss you so much Thatha garu... (broken heart emoji)."

This year had been tough for the Ghattamaneni family. Mahesh Babu’s mother and Krishna’s wife Indira Devi passed away in September at the age of 70. Earlier in January, Mahesh also lost his elder brother Ramesh Babu, who died of a kidney-related ailment.

In a career spanning five decades, Krishna acted in more than 350 films. In 2009, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema. Considered as one of the first superstars of Telugu Cinema, Krishna was last seen on screen in the 2016 Telugu film, 'Sri Sri'.
