New Delhi: Poonam Pandey is presently starring in the digital reality show, Lock Upp. She recently spoke out about her tumultuous marriage to Sam Bombay.

In the most recent episode, all of the inmates were assigned to reveal their deepest personal secret and talk about mental health and emotional well-being.

While participating in a group discussion on mental health awareness, Poonam Pandey discloses that she was subjected to mental abuse and torture throughout her marriage.

Poonam said in the last episode that the food and sleep she is receiving in prison are luxuries for her since she has been in a problematic relationship for the past four years and is unable to afford them.

She disclosed, "This jail, the food, my sleep, it is luxury for me. I was in a relationship for four years and for those four years of my life, I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I would not eat for days, that's why I crave for vada pav. I would get beaten up. I would get locked in one of my bedrooms. My phone was broken so I couldn't make any calls. And the next time I would just feel that I should kill myself. I've tried to kill myself multiple times. Kutte ki tarah maarta hai na, kutte ki tarah"

Poonam went on to encourage those who are victims of domestic violence to refuse to accept the abuse and to take action to protect themselves.

All of Poonam's roommates embraced her and cheered her on, praising her for being so courageous in speaking so openly about her past and present.
