New Delhi: ‘Balika Vadhu’ fame Pratyusha Banerjee's body was discovered in her Mumbai home in 2016. She died at the age of 25. Even though it's been almost seven years since Pratyusha passed away, her devoted fanbase still mourns her loss. Banerjee's family filed a case naming Rahul Raj Singh as the suspect in Pratyusha’s death. The case resulted in Rahul obtaining bail in advance to prevent his arrest. In a recent interview, her ex-boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who was blamed for her suicide, talks about her death. Rahul, who is now a married father of a young kid, revisited the topic of his involvement in the case.

Speaking to Aaj Tak, Rahul said that the loss of Pratyusha had a lasting effect on him and that he struggled to recover for a long period. Rahul mentioned his inability to find a job had caused havoc in both his personal and professional life.

Referring to the allegations made against him, Rahul Raj said, “I was unconscious for two to three days when the accident happened. When sleeping pills did not work, efforts were made to make me sleep by giving injections. People are telling me I am responsible for her death. How can I be responsible for someone’s death?"

When questioned why Pratyusha had committed suicide, Rahul said that Pratyusha often used to film suicide attempts. The late actress's tendency to scare Rahul by playing out "suicide" was another reason. Rahul reasoned that whatever happened to Pratyusha on that terrible night of April 1, 2016, it might be the result of a slip and fall of the foot when she was recording one of her hanging videos.

He said, "I had a party with her just the night before. I didn’t provoke her, but she was worried about her parents’ debt. I do not consider it suicide. Pratyusha was making hanging videos to scare me. She often used to do this; only then must her foot have slipped.”

Meanwhile, Rahul is returning to the music industry with the release of his second studio album, titled ‘Beparwah 2.’
