New Delhi: BTS member Suga is under investigation for allegedly riding a scooter while intoxicated. The rapper, who is currently completing his compulsory military training as a social service agent, has reportedly violated South Korea's traffic laws regarding drunk driving, which also apply to electric scooters.

What Happened

According to Yonhap News, Suga was found 'fallen on the streets by himself' on the night of August 6. He was allegedly operating the electric scooter while drunk when a patrolling police officer noticed him and detected the smell of alcohol. Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, was taken to a nearby police station and is now being investigated for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).

Suga's military enlistment

BigHit Music and HYBE have yet to respond to the report. Suga enlisted for military training on September 22, 2023. At that time, he posted an emotional farewell to his fans on Weverse, saying, “I’ll faithfully serve and come back … Please stay healthy and let’s meet all again in 2025!”

He entered the Nonsan Training Center in South Chungcheong Province for basic training before transitioning to his role as a social service worker, likely due to his previous shoulder surgery. Social service agents are expected to serve for 21 months.

Since his enlistment, Suga has maintained a low profile. However, he was spotted with fellow BTS member Jin after Jin completed his military training in June. They celebrated Kim Seok-jin’s military training completion and the group's debut anniversary together.

Suga is scheduled to be discharged in June of next year.
