New Delhi: BLACKPINK's Kim Ji Soo aka Jisoo's solo debut with ‘FLOWER’ has set a monumental record as the most streamed song of the decade by a Korean female soloist on Spotify. Surpassing her fellow BLACKPINK member Rose's ‘On The Ground’ (402 million streams), Jisoo's ‘FLOWER’ (403 million streams) has earned a remarkable position as the top solo song by a Korean female soloist this decade on the streaming platform.
Notably, ‘FLOWER’ now stands as the second most streamed solo song by a Korean artist on Spotify, following only Jennie's ‘Solo’ released in 2019. Furthermore, all members of BLACKPINK boast at least one song with over 400 million Spotify listens, with each member topping the list for the most streamed K-pop female soloist songs of all time. Recently, Jisoo's ‘FLOWER’ climbed to the fifth position on this prestigious list.
In other news, BLACKPINK recently renewed its contract with YG Entertainment, signalling the group's continued commitment to the global music market. The agency shared a statement stating, "We are pleased to announce that our board of directors has successfully come to an agreement on the signing of exclusive group contracts for all four members of BLACKPINK, our talented artists. BLACKPINK will continue to do its best to shine more brightly in the world music market as an artist representing K-POP, and we will continue to give their unwavering support and faith in their actions.”
As Jisoo continues to shine in her music career, she has also been approached to star in the upcoming show ‘Influenza’ opposite ‘Start-Up’ actor Park Jung-Min. BLACKPINK, a female group managed by YG Entertainment and Blissoo, Jisoo’s own company.
