New Delhi: Sandra Bullock's longtime partner Bryan Randall, passed away at the age of 57 following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Page Six received confirmation from the photographer's family on Monday, August 7.
Bryan Randall lost his battle with ALS peacefully on August 5 after a three-year fight, according to a statement from his family. "Bryan made the decision early on to keep his ALS journey private, and those of us who cared for him tried our best to comply with his wishes."
"We are incredibly grateful to the tireless doctors who walked alongside us through this illness' terrain and to the amazing nurses who became our roommates, frequently putting their own families before ours," the statement continued. According to their request, the family needs "privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan."
The motor neurons—those nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that regulate voluntary muscle movement—are affected by Lou Gehrig's disease, or ALS, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. The muscles we voluntarily contract to make actions like chewing, walking, and talking are known as voluntary muscles. Since the illness is progressive, its signs and symptoms progressively worsen. There is no effective medication to stop the progression of ALS, nor is there a cure.
Sandra and Bryan had largely kept their relationship a secret from the public, but Sandra revealed on 'Red Table Talk' in December 2021 that she had "found the love of my life" in him. "We have two lovely children together, three total, including [Randall's] older daughter. The finest thing ever, Sandra exclaimed. Louis, age 13, and Laila, age 10, were her adopted children. Bryan and his former partner had a daughter together, named Skylar Staten Randall.
In the same interview, Sandra remarked, "He's the example that I would want my children to have." There are two perspectives on the matter, and my partner is a devout Christian. Each of us has our disagreements from time to time. But even when I disagree with him, he serves as an example.
