New Delhi: Every year, the Oscars ceremony isn't just about the golden statuettes. Nominees also go home with famously extravagant gift bags, curated by Los Angeles-based marketing company Distinctive Assets. This year's edition, valued at over $170,000 (Around 1.4 crore), is no different, packed with luxurious experiences, high-end products, and even treats for their furry friends.

Lash Fary, founder of Distinctive Assets told Reuters, “We call it ‘Everyone Wins’ and we do this independently of the Academy, which means I get to decide who gets it and it's only the top acting and directing nominees,"

Luxury travel steals the show
These coveted swag bags boast nearly 60 items. The crown jewel of the 2024 bag is a three-day stay at a secluded chalet in Switzerland, complete with daily meals and massages, for a whopping $50,000. Other travel experiences include a wellness retreat in California and a Caribbean getaway.

Beyond the headline-grabbing trips, the bag boasts a wide variety of items. Foodies will love the high-end kitchen appliances like a wine fridge and a portable grill. Beauty and wellness are well-represented with skincare products, trendy supplements, and even a session with a celebrity mentalist. Even canine companions are included, with special gifts just for them.

These bags aren't just gifts; they're a marketing bonanza. Companies pay a hefty fee to have their products included, hoping for a celebrity endorsement by association. With over 60 items from around 70 companies, nominees are exposed to a vast array of luxury brands.

“They're so famous and their names have such value and such cachet and that's exactly what they can bring to these products,” Fary told Reuters.
