New Delhi: Ridley Scott is skilled at making excellent pictures that span a variety of genres, including big action dramas, historical stories, and sci-fi flicks. As a result, the mere mention of his name is enough to get movie fans excited about his new film, Napoleon. Even more impressive is the film's brilliant ensemble cast, which includes Joaquin Phoenix as the controversial historical figure Napoleon Bonaparte, Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, and Tahar Rahim as the French politician Paul Barras.


The movie's official trailer teases a majestic portrayal of the fascinating voyage of the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, which will be released in theatres in November of this year.


The trailer opens with a view of Napoleon (Phoenix) standing atop a hill, his eyes fixated on the camera as a crowd of people moves forward gradually in the background. The setting of the story in 1793 France is clearly established in the promotional material. Additionally, the teaser shows glimpses of Napoleon's rise to power and his subsequent control over the French military. Along with the slogan "He came from nothing, He conquered everything," the teaser introduces an insightful examination of Napoleon's incredible journey.

The film depicts Napoleon's relentless drive to power through the prism of his obsessive and turbulent relationship with his one true love, Josephine, as the description of the trailer suggests. The spectacle-filled action epic describes the checkered rise and fall of the renowned French emperor.


The 158-second teaser refers to Napoleon as an emperor, a lover, a dictator, and a legend at the same time, suggesting the movie will explore the emperor's complex nature and the various facets of his character.


Napoleon is written by David Scarpa and is being produced by Ridley Scott, Joaquin Phoenix, Kevin J. Walsh, and Mark Huffam. Additionally playing significant roles in the movie are Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Matthew Needham, Youssef Kerkour, and Phil Cornwell.
