The announcement put an end to recent online rumours after the magazine image featuring Benny Blanco stirred up confusion, causing fans to believe he had won this year’s title. Krasinski follows last year’s honoree, actor Patrick Dempsey.
Best known for his role as Jim Halpert on 'The Office', Krasinski has since evolved into an action star with the Jack Ryan series and a creative powerhouse behind the hit horror franchise 'A Quiet Place'.

In an interview with People, Krasinski expressed disbelief over the title, describing his initial reaction as “just immediate blackout... Zero thoughts.” He even wondered if it was all an elaborate prank. He joked that his wife, actress Emily Blunt, might follow through on her long-standing joke to turn his cover photo into wallpaper around their home.
He also said that Blunt was “very excited” when she heard the news. “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he added.

“I think it’s going to make me do more household chores,” he joked to People. “After this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.’”
People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ title has been previously bestowed on stars like Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Legend, Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth, and Channing Tatum.
