A moment that many fans have been waiting for is here. Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' won the best movie motion picture Globe at the 81st edition of the Golden Globes. Producer of the film Emma Thomas calls the satge 'really intimidating' and paid tribute to her director and husband Christopher Nolan.
Lily Gladstone has won the best female actor in a motion picture drama for Martin Scorsese's 'Killers of the Flower Moon'. In her acceptance speech, she thanked Scorsese and DiCaprio for helping to change things as 'tremendous allies' and hoped that other Native kids also get inspired.
A sruprise for many as 'Poor Things' won the Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy award. The Emma Stone film beat 'Barbie', the strongest contendor in this category for this big win. Last year, the same award was won by 'The Banshees of Inishirin' rather than 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' giving us a hint of the award going to the less usual entries in the category.
Paul Giamatti won the Best Male Actor award in a motion picture musical or comedy beating the likes of Jeffrey Wright, Nicolas Cage and Joaquin Phoenix for the film 'The Holdovers'.
Another deserved win for the final season of one of TV history's most loved show: Succession as it bags the Best TV series in the drama category. Jesse Armstrong, surrounded by a very large cast, said in his acceptance speech, "It’s a team effort this show which is one of the reason it’s so lovely to do."
The third win for 'Succession'as Sarah Snook won a second time for the hit HBO show in the best female actor- TV series Drama format.
A category sweep for 'The Bear' after the series was named the best musical or comedy TV series after two majoe wins at the Globes 2024. While 'Beef' has become the best limited series award becoming the third award for the Netflix series.
A highlight from the ceremony included a special moment during which Hollywood megastar Kevin Costnerand America Ferrara graced the stage to present an award. 'Anatomy of a Fall' win the best motion picture in non-English language. A second win for the French courtroom/domestic drama, 'Anatomy of a Fall' is a thriller about a mysterious death.This film can now become a serious contendor leading up to the Oscars after its big win.
Jeremy Allen White has won the best male actor in a TV series-musical or comedy for 'The Bear'.This marks White's second win for the acclaimed show. Paying tribute to the cast of the show, Jeremy said in his speech, "I must have done something right in this life to be in your company."
In the newest category for best stand-up performance on the small screen, Ricky Gervais won for his controversial special 'Armageddon'. The ex-Globes host was not present to accept his award.

Several Hollywood giants are in the race to bag the prestigious awards. Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' has nine nominations to its name while Christopher Nolan's 'Openheimer' boasts of eight nominations.
The Golden Globe 2024 marks Hollywood's first big celebration in Hollywood post the writers and actors strikes that halted most of the entertainment industry in 2023. This time, the Globes have opned their doors to more international journalists. From 80 journalists in the past to 300 entertainment journalists, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has rebooted the numbers who will honour the best in film and TV.
