New Delhi: Actors Gal Gadot and Aia Bhatt are busy promoting their upcoming action-spy-thriller film 'Heart of Stone'. During promotions, Gadot surprised audiences when she spoke Telugu.
The DC star was sitting with Alia as the latter tried to teach her a little bit of Telugu during their Q&A session on 'Wired' answering ‘Google’s Most Asked Questions.’ One of the subjects which emerged was ‘Does Gal Gadot speak Telugu?’
To this, Alia said that she can speak a little bit of Telugu though she is not fluent in the language.
Gadot asked Alia to teach her some to which she complied and taught her the line "Andariki Namaskaram," which roughly translates to "Hello everyone."
Gadot then proceeded to speak the sentence with confidence with the correct pronunciation, which really took everyone by surprise.
Later in the video, Alia was also asked if she was in the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’. She replied, “Unfortunately, no.” She did the hook step and also taught it to Gadot.
'Heart of Stone' follows Rachel Stone (played by Gal Gadot), a member of an elusive and mysterious group of elite spies called the Charter. When the shadowy organisation's cutting-edge weapon, an AI-esque technological core called the Heart, is stolen by hacker Keya Dhawan (Alia Bhatt), Stone embarks on a globetrotting adventure to prevent the weapon from falling into the wrong hands and saving the day.
Talking about her equation with Alia, Gal told PTI, "She's amazing, we hit it from the get go. I think we share so much in common for the fact that I'm from Israel and she's from India. We're both now making this film that is global and American. And we're both very dedicated and hard workers in what we do, but we also are very family oriented... It was like the smoothest getting into a relationship I've had.”
Directed by Tom Harper, the film also stars Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo and Matthias Schweighofer. The movie will be released on Netflix on August 11, 2023.
The film has a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder, and is produced by Gadot, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jaron Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
