Velli Janani AKA Harjas Sethi Spills The Beans On Her Viral Work From Home Video

A video meant for her friends and colleagues much to her own surprise blew up almost 10 days after it was posted.

New Delhi: When Harjas Sethi aka Velli Janani' saw the sudden response to her recent video she was overwhelmed. The video was originally meant for just her friends and colleagues to laugh but when it was retweeted by Paytm founder Vijay Shekar it blew up. Harjas Sethi describes herself as a 'simple girl' who enjoys music, scrolling through her Instagram and the company of her two cats. Sethi currently works with an MNC in Gurgaon, having worked from home for almost a year it was a a bit disheartening for her to see the mail asking employees to come to office which is dreaded by most millennials.

'The video was my honest reaction to the email I had received three days ago from my employer asking if I'd like to come to office for work. Of course, I made it for fun, for my friends and colleagues.'

She posted the video on her Instagram where it was trending for 10 days and she received close to ten thousand views. "Twitter took it to the next level, especially when the founder of PayTM retweeted it, after that I don't know how many lakhs of people watched it, commented on it on all channels, of course it's not something I expected so I was overwhelmed."

One of the reasons why people loved the video, was her deadpan expression 'there was no practice or script I am generally an expressive person but if I frown or talk about something serious I have straight face...I don't even blink!'

People's response definitely encouraged her to create more videos because it's a way for to express herself. But she will not be sticking to one genre, Harjas is wants to create videos on various topics including psychology and communication. "I would love to continue making videos and see how people respond to it."

Like most millennials, Harjas wouldn't like to go back to office so soon but she knows she wouldn't have an option if they ask her to come to work. While she misses the structure that comes from going to office, 'working from home does save a lot of time that you usually waste while commuting, it's a lot more flexible and I'm sure during the NCR winters people skipped bathing a couple of times at least.'

"At times when you're working from home you extend your shift because everything get mixed up and you don't realize that your shift is over and you just sit in front of your laptop," she added.

Sethi is a free spirit, 'I don't even make short term plans because more often than not they cause disappointment, so I take life one step at a time so let's see what life has in store for me.'

The video has since been retweeted over 3.9K times, and some of the funniest reactions she has received is about her expression. Those wondering if Zoya ever responded 'she had a good laugh as well', Harjas said.
