Singer Zayn Malik and supermodel Gigi Hadid have decided to part ways after being in a relationship for two years. People reports that multiple sources have confirmed the split. The ex-couple however will continue to co-parent their daughter Khai.

Gigi’s representatives further stated that she was solely focused on the best for her daughter and she has urged everyone to give her some privacy during this time.

The news comes after Malik issued statements denying claims surrounding an alleged incident that took place between him and Gigi's mother Yolanda.

"I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private," he told in a statement on Thursday.

The 28-year-old singer Zayn Malik also took to social media earlier in the day to say there were "harsh words shared" not long after news broke to address the allegations.  He wrote, ‘As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press.’

Zayn and Gigi began an on-again-off-again relationship in 2015, the couple share a daughter, whom they welcomed in September 2020.
