After captivated audiences with his portrayal of Krishna Pandit in 'The Kashmir Files', Darshan Kumaar is all set to win over hearts with 'Kaagaz 2'. He plays an IMA officer supporting Satish Kaushik's fight for justice after his daughter's tragic death.
Darshan Kumaar underwent rigorous training to portray an IMA officer on screen. Speaking about his training days, Darshan shared, "I remember one instance when Satish Ji took me to meet one of the officers at IMA. We went up to his office, and the moment the officer saw me, he sternly asked me to return to training. Satish Ji and I were shocked for a moment. Later, we realized it was a misunderstanding. The officer mentioned that I resembled one of the cadets so closely that he couldn't recognise me at all and was about to reprimand me. We all shared a hearty laugh thereafter."
"And this not only happened once but twice. I had a similar experience with a Lady Officer who shouted at me for not being on the ground, and she later realised that I was an actor and not a real cadet. I took it as a compliment and felt proud that I could embody the uniform look. I will forever be grateful for my character in Kaagaz 2," he added.
Meanwhile, 'Kaagaz 2' directed by VK Prakash and produced by Shashi Satish Kaushik, Ratan Jain, and Ganesh Jain, is going to be a finale to the late actor's illustrious career. Starring an ensemble cast that includes Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, and Neena Gupta, 'Kaagaz 2' explores a compelling narrative of a common man's struggle for the fundamental rights to life, free movement, and personal liberty.
The film is set to hit the theatres on March 1, 2024.
