A special court in Mumbai on Wednesday allowed the plea of Aryan Khan, actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, seeking the return of his passport. Aryan got a clean chit from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the Cordelia cruise drugs case in May this year.
Aryan Khan had submitted his passport before the court as part of his bail conditions. He was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in October 2021 and was in judicial custody for 26 days. The agency later gave him a clean chit as it could not find sufficient evidence against Aryan Khan and the five others.
Aryan Khan On June 30, he had moved an application before the special court, through his lawyers Amit Desai and Rahul Agarwal of Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla, seeking the return of his passport, citing the charge sheet that did not name him.
According to PTI, the anti-drug agency, in its response to the actor's plea, said it has no objection to returning his passport.
The special court judge, V V Patil, then allowed Aryan's plea to take his passport back.
The 24-year-old was arrested by the NCB on October 3 last year after a raid on the Goa-bound Cordelia cruise. Aryan’s lawyer Satish Manshinde had released a statement after Aryan got a clean chit by NCB.
The statement read, “The Arrest and Detention of Aryan Khan for 26 days was unjustified more particularly when he was not found in possession of any drugs, there was no evidence of any kind, there was no material of any nature of the violation of any law much less the NDPS Act. We are happy that the Special Investigation Team under Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh investigated the case in an objective manner and decided not to file a complaint against Aryan Khan for Lack of Sufficient Evidence. God is Great. Satya Meva Jayate. Satish Maneshinde Adv.”
Meanwhile, there are reports of Aryan assisting in his father’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’. He has reportedly choreographed action scenes in the film. There are also rumours of him writing a script for an OTT show.
