New Delhi: India made history with Chandrayaan-3 successfully landing on the moon. India is the first nation to accomplish a soft landing on the lunar south pole thanks to Chandrayaan-3's soft touchdown there. On August 23, 2023, at 6:04 p.m. IST, Chandrayaan-3 made contact with the Moon. The '15 minutes of terror' saw the successful completion of every phase of the descent. Initial setup, velocity reduction, orientation shift, attitude hold phase, fine braking, final descent, and touchdown were all processes that Chandrayaan-3 underwent. Powered descent began after the automatic landing sequence was initiated.
