Vivek Vaswani On Not Being In Touch With Shah Rukh Khan For The Last Four Years: 'He Has 17 Phones, Runs An Empire'

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and actor-producer Vivek Vaswani, who once shared a close bond, seem to have drifted apart over the past four years. Vivek, who helped Shah Rukh Khan at the start of his career, recently shared that the two have not spoken in the last four years. the surprising disconnect in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. 

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vivek disclosed, "We do not meet, we don’t talk, we don't even have a relationship."

The last time the two crossed paths was at SRK's birthday party at Mannat in 2018. Vivek reminisced about the event, describing it as a fun-filled affair where Shah Rukh introduced him to director Aanand L Rai. “He pointed towards the party and said, ‘Anand Bhai, Do you see all these people, everyone owes me, I have given someone a car, someone a flat. But this man (Vivek) hasn’t taken a cup of tea from me yet'," Vivek quoted SRK.

Explaining the four-year gap, Vivek shed light on his busy schedule as a teacher and dean, working 18 hours a day, commuting by bus and local train, making it challenging to connect with a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan. Despite the lack of recent contact, Vivek emphasised that whenever they do meet, it doesn't reflect the years of silence. 

Addressing the reason behind not reaching out to SRK all these years, Vivek shared, "SRK has 17 phones, and I have one number. I called him after Jawan, but he didn’t pick up. When I was in the shower, he called back but I could not answer. He travels all the time and has a lot of responsibilities. He runs an empire, so I am okay."

Vivek also spoke about longstanding rumours about SRK's relationship with actor Priyanka Chopra. He called the actor a one-woman man. 

“From the time I have known him, he has been a one-woman man all his life. How many flings have you heard of? We have had one rumour of Priyanka Chopra, that also it's a rumour but what else have we heard of Shah Rukh? Nothing. He's not that kind of a person,” he told Siddharth. 

Vivek and Shah Rukh’s last collaboration dates back to 2010 for the film 'Dulha Mil Gaya.'
