New Delhi: Tamil actor-music composer Vijay Antony’s 16-year-old daughter passed away on September 19 allegedly by suicide. On Thursday, Vijay took to social media to share a statement on the tragic news.  


The statement read, “All you kind-hearted, My daughter Meera is very loving and brave. She has now gone to a better and more peaceful place devoid of caste, religion, money, envy, pain, poverty, and vengeance. She is still conversing with me. I have died along with her. I have started spending time with her now. Whatever good deeds that I will be doing henceforth on behalf of her, will be initiated by her.” 


 






According to police, the 16-year-old was found hanging in her Teynampet residence at 3 AM and was rushed to a city hospital where she was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors. 


The victim was studying in Class 12 at a private school. A case of unnatural death was registered, and investigation is on, PTI reported. 


Soon after her demise, many celebrities took to social media to pay condolences. Reacting to her demise, veteran actor R Sarathkumar said, “The news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of the daughter of @vijayantony and Fatima is shocking beyond imaginations. No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima. Vijay I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss. May her soul rest in peace #RIPMeera R.Sarathkumar & Family.” 


Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu in a post on X said, “Woke up to this shocking news! Deepest condolences Vijay Antony Sir and family.”


Singer Chinmayi Sripaada said, “Praying for strength and love to the family of Vijay Anthony sir Truly hope everyone is really sensitive when reporting this; the ideal thing would be for media to give the family privacy and leave them alone. Heartbreaking.”


Actor Sunainaa said, “My deepest condolence to Vijay Antony sir and his entire family. I hope you are able to find strength in these trying times.”


She is survived by her father, mother Fatima, and her sister.
